Abstract
This study explored the importance of physiotherapy in improving the lives of physically and health-impaired children (PHIC). The research was conducted at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria, involving a sample of 20 PHIC randomly selected from the 100–300 levels of the School of Special Education. The participants, aged between 19 and 30 years, included 40% males and 60% females. A 20-item structured questionnaire was used for data collection, and responses were analyzed using frequency counts and simple percentages. The findings revealed that physiotherapy plays a significant role in enhancing the lives of PHIC by improving their physical and health conditions. Physiotherapy interventions were found to contribute positively to the rehabilitation of PHIC, increasing their mobility, strength, and overall well-being. The study highlights the importance of incorporating physiotherapy into the rehabilitation process for children with physical and health impairments to facilitate their recovery and integration into daily life activities.
