Abstract
This paper examines the role of women in the novels of Chinua Achebe, with a focus on Anthills of the Savannah. The paper argues that Achebe's portrayal of women is complex and nuanced, and that he explores the different ways in which women can participate in public affairs. The paper also discusses the challenges that women face in post-colonial African societies, and how Achebe's novels offer a glimpse of the possibilities for women's empowerment.
